ButtonholesButtonholes have been used in this sample to form tiny frames, two buttonholes are stitched in the form of a cross and pulled back to reveal a fragment of the fabric behind. |

EyeletsIn this sample, a fabric has been made by painting polyester with fabric paints using lace as a stencil. The lace has then been reapplied to the fabric using various automatic patterns and eyelets. |

Changing Stitch LengthThis sample was stitched onto a piece of coloured tissue paper bonded onto Vilene. Automatic pattern (418) was stitched over the top in threads to match the paper, where a matching thread was not available, the stitch length was changed to give a different intensity of colour |

Decorative PatternsThis sample was stitched using 2 programs (416 and 710) and 4 threads and demonstrates fragmentation. Layering the threads in different orders produces different results, especially when using the variegated thread with the gold. The fabric was polyester soaked and dyed with silk paints. |
